Roger was curious to know where they can go scuba diving on the Costa
Blanca. Every once in a while we like to ¨go off the deep end ¨and
explore the magical underwater world of the Mediteranean. Do you dare
to dip into warm greenish-blue waters off any
Costa blanca beach ?
Roger did not specify what kind of scuba diving he did, and being as I
had no idea that there were so many different kinds of scuba diving, I
thought I´d include a little of each type available. So depending on
your.......

Andreas from Greece wrote saying that our newsletter had helped him on
other occasions and wanted us to do so again for his upcoming holidays.
So this time he needs to know how he can spot a good hotel in Benidorm.
He and his girlfriend are looking for a nice hotel view of the beach.
They also want to be near a variety of restaurants, fun attractions and
jumpin' nightlife.
Well, here goes our list of
hotels in Benidorm which we gathered from friends and aquaintances.
http://www.alicante-spain.com/benidorm-hotels.html
Hope they work out as well as before.
It doesn't matter how long you're staying, but you gotta spend a day at the theme park called
Terra Mitica and another at Terra Natura. We all know that we have a " kid " hidden in us!
Oh! And thanks for the compliment.

Special Thanks to our newsletter reader Peachy M. who informed me that
LTE International Airways is flying from Norwich to Alicante directly.
I updated our listing of
direct flights to and from Alicante on our cheap flights page here:
http://www.alicante-spain.com/cheap_alicante_flights.html
Thanks again and please keep me posted if you spot any new airline flying directly to Alicante.

Nielp wanted to visit vineyards in Murcia or Alicante and buy from
them. What would be a visit to Spain and not try the ´nectar of the
gods´ in situ ?
This famous broth that has enchanted civilization for
many centuries is unveiled before your eyes at the wine cellars in
Murcia, the province connected to Alicante in the south.
This region
has been quickly moving up the rungs of the ladder to position itself
among the leading wine producers in Spain.
Within the Murcia province, there are three outstanding cities that I´ve found quite interesting for their wine...

I see Toni, one of our newsletter readers, has asked if it is necessary to book a seat on the buses from ALSA. These
buses run between Alicante airport and various cities around the Costa Blanca with many stops at smaller towns. Depending on
where you are traveling and what time of the year, you should book a
seat.
The best way to assure yourself would be to look at the specific
bus information...

Views and impressions of guardama del segura in Spain
|
Tony Ho. askes about Guardamar del Segura: "Thank you for these mails
over the last few months, looking forward to our holiday even more next
month. We will be staying in a villa in Guardama del Sergura, can you
tell me anything about the location? Thanks, Tony"
Hello Tony,
we have details, photos and a video of guardamar del segura here on our site:
http://www.alicante-spain.com/guardamar.html
Its a really impressive area, especially the
Dunes of Guardamar - with its pine trees protecting the inland against the sand from the beach.
Simply spectacular! Worth visiting when you are south of Alicante.

Robert was worried about if there was a car park near or at Hotel Don
pancho in Benidorm. Being as many of the
hotels in Benidorm are right in the city
centre, there arises the question about where you can park your car.
So
when it comes to parking in a touristy area, there is no time for guess
work. If staying at Don Pancho Hotel .....
John Atkinson was hoping to find information for the Laguna Bahia area, which is an area in the
city of Torrevieja,
souths of Alicante.
Torrevieja is a fast growing coastal city, and so it is
expanding the living facilities by building luxurious and well-kept
apartments, chalets and semi-detached housing. Laguna Bahia is one of
the privileged neighbourhoods easily found between two other fortunate
areas called Lago Jardin and Los Altos and just a few minutes from the
Torrevieja Lagoon and Naufragos
Torrevieja Beach .
If
you get to stay in Laguna Bahias, you´ll soon learn about the local
history, which, of course, brings along a fascinating music festival
called Las Habaneras. Yes, as you have suspected, this has to do with
La Habana in Cuba. You see, Torrevieja was a great salt...

I have a question regarding car access and parking in Alicante... are the city roads easily navigated and where would you recommend we park to see the best of the city?My thanks and best wishes - Keith
Hello Keith, Parking in Alicante is a nightmare. Depending on the time of the day, it will be tough to find a good parking lot in the city center.
However there is one exception. If you go to the...

Our reader Johann from Austria wants to know any good restaurants in or
around Denia, since he will spend this years vacation there.
Denia
http://www.alicante-spain.com/denia.html sits north of Benidorm on the Costa Blanca. There are many
delightful restaurants to choose from in this town but here are some
tried and tested recommendations below.
Having been to just a few favorite bars and restaurants there I asked one of my
spanish neighbors ( a local salesman ) to help me out. So here is a short
list of our favorite bars and restaurants in Denia:
La Menta restaurant in Denia lies in the beautiful old part of the town, to be
more specific it is in the ancient fisherman’s part of town. Head chef
Peter van Strateen cooks up divine Mediterranean dishes and guests are
able to enjoy the cosy atmosphere. Particular dishes of note are the
homemade pate, and the rack of lamb that is cooked to perfection. The
restaurant can be reached via phone on 966 431 851. Starters start at
around 5 Euro, with main dishes from approximately 12- 19 Euro . It is
situated on the Plaza San Antonio and is number 3.
Restaurant Ikarus is a lovely place on the beach side of the town of
Denia. The restaurant has a large bar where diners can enjoy a nice
ore-dinner aperitif and there is a large roof terrace when the weather
is fine. The establishment can host up to 30 people and often enjoys
having parties come in to eat. Chef Timo constantly changes the menu
and ensures only the freshest ingredients are used to produce the range
of soups, fish and meat dishes that are on the menu. Bookings can be
made from 5pm onwards by phone. They can be reached on +34 966 422 788.
The address is Las Marinas, Centro Commercial ‘El Poblet’, Denia.
La Casa del Greco provides a wonderful fusion...

Farmers markets are extremely popular in all major towns and cities
from Benidorm, Calpe, Denia, down to Altea, Alicante, Santa Pola and
Torrevieja. In an age where organic is seen as a healthier and more
environmentally friendly way to eat, more and more people are heading
to their market at the weekends, rather than taking a trip down to the
local supermarket. In Spain markets have always been popular way to
shop for produce and other local goods, however they are not called
farmers markets as such because of the different range of items that
are sold there.
Three different Types of local Farmer Market
There are 3 types of markets held throughout the Costa Blanca. They are
all open air and the most popular ones sells fruit, vegetable and
flowers. These are the ones most similar to...
